IRATE is a "CRASE Plus" specialized training for hospital staff, ED staff, and other high-risk hospital areas based on national statistics. The three areas of focus are IRATE, Nurse Bullying, and Workplace Violence.
Our content supports existing hospital safety objectives by being adjustable for immediate security issues, hospital code explanations, and clinical education workplace violence awareness. Our mission is to train everyday men and women to protect themselves by any and all means necessary. To train the latest individual and collective tactics of awareness, mindset, and physical and emotional skill sets that your staff will need in a crucial moment to survive a violent encounter and to think during and after the event activity.
Program Producers, Jon Lindgren, Chris Thrash, Jason Real, and Russell Strand are CRASE trainers certified through the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service. Training includes Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response, S.P.E.A.R. Defensive Tactics, Personal Defense Readiness (PDR), and Texas Senate Bill 240.
Hospital Safe packages are bid once all information is gathered from the clinical education team and the estimated number of the potential audience and/or staff presentations.
Each training event requires an initial in-person meeting to determine customized branded teaching segments. A secondary meeting will be required for recording videos of security and local police departments. There is a staff mobile registration for mobile readiness for event reminders, live interactive audience responses, and post-training surveys. Staff names, numbers, or emails are not required for in-app interactivity and analytics. The program includes video segments utilizing local and national police segments, past active shooter hospital stories, and on-screen facility examples for interactive audience participation and round table discussions to include every participant. Post-event surveys and video reminders encourage viewer retention and provide leadership with event analytics.
Presentations audiences include leadership, security, hospital staff, emergency department staff, stand-alone urgent care staff, and physician offices to cover the gamut of an entire hospital system. Interactive presentations can accommodate audiences from 30 to 500 attendees.
Every training includes two people, a key-note speaker-presenter, and a technical director (TD). We coordinate the teaching program and technology for a smooth delivery without the need for technical assistance once the training begins.
The Hospital Safe Program is a product of Lindgren Media and in partnership with Medical Channel Network.
The Hospital Safe program introduces Internal Response to Aggressive and Traumatic Events (IRATE) Training for a healthcare-specific audience. Hospital Safe utilizes CRASE core and established elements and then implements IRATE training for additional vulnerabilities and access points unique to hospitals’ emergency departments and patient entryways.

Augmented reality learning has become effective in the workplace for its ability to provide interactive and engaging training experiences that enhance employee learning and retention. By overlaying digital information onto the real world, augmented reality can create immersive and hands-on learning environments that simulate real-world scenarios. This can help employees better identify and apply the most appropriate actions when confronted with an active shooter. Utilizing the AVOID, DENY, DEFEND language taught in the C.R.A.S.E. course with the added expertise of IRATE.
Virtual reality can be a great learning tool for safety protocols because it provides a realistic and immersive environment where users can practice and experience different safety scenarios. By simulating hazardous situations in a controlled virtual setting, individuals can learn how to react and make decisions without any real-world risks. This hands-on approach can help reinforce safety procedures and protocols in a more engaging and memorable way compared to traditional training methods. Additionally, virtual reality allows for repetitive practice and feedback to improve retention.
